Team | An Irrational Element

The first time being exposed to fashion and true style was when I got in touch with skateboarding. A whole new dimension opened up as I recognized style as an intrinsic part of each individual, which is manifested throughout everything one does. In skateboarding this is displayed distinctively through the way one rides, does tricks and dresses.

Taking skateboarding as a reference has been an ongoing inspiration to An Irrational Element and led into the latest development; The An Irrational Element team.

This re-worked variant of a skateboarding team is focused on creatives and the universes they shape through their creative force and characteristic styles. Traditionally skateboard teams put out video parts, pro-model products, organize demos as a means of brand building and showcasing identity. An Irrational Element’s team outings will be centered around the on-going dialogue between brand and artists by exploring their works and personas through diverse formats.

Based in Amsterdam, Luna Mara creates intuitive ceramics, incidental textile experiments and other miscellaneous works.

Based in Philadelphia, Ashley Martin is a self taught wood artist creating anything from vessels to furniture in his idiosyncratic way.

Sharing a tacit sensibility in vision and craft both Luna Mara’s and Ashley Martin’s worlds will be highlighted throughout the year in several formats on www.an-irrational-element.com and other outlets.
